The Jessica Sierra Case

The Case

In the early morning hours of April 29, 2007, Jessica Sierra was at the Tampa, FL nightclub "Hyde Park Cafe." While inside she allegedly threw a heavy drinking glass at Wisam Hadad. The glass lacerated Hadad's forehead just above the eye requiring stitches. Ms. Sierra was arrested and charged with "Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon" and was found to be in possession of cocaine when arrested. A "Possession of Cocaine" charge was added at the time of arrest. In the booking process at the Hillsborough County Jail, police confiscated additional cocaine from the purse of Jessica Sierra and a third count was added, "Introducing of Contraband into a Correctional Facility."

Later that day, Jessica Sierra posted the $11,500 bail and was released. Jessica Sierra pled no contest to the criminal charges of battery and cocaine possession. She was sentenced to one year of probabtion and extensive drug testing.

Shortly after the day of the incident, Mr. Hadad filed a civil suit as a result of the "long-term impacts that may effect his ability to provide for his family," as stated by Hadad's attorney Matthew Przybycin of Dennis Hernandez & Associates, PA. "Mr. Hadad is concerned about the mental and physical damage he may have sustained as a result of his encounter with Ms. Sierra." This civil suit is still pending.

Mr. Przybycin was quoted in The St. Petersburg Times and Mr. Hernandez was quoted on ABC Action News 28 - WFTS-TV.
